From Bob Gilbert:

Kamau,

My question is a personal one. Could you, when you next talk to Jason, please tell him how much he is appreciated both as a gifted athlete and a as role model for anyone who chooses to participate in sports? As a member of the 1956 Knothole gang I have him as my all-time favorite Eskimo. And I have been ardent fan for well over 50 years. Untroubled and unselfish is Jason Tucker…and for someone so talented, you just have to love that…

As a veterinarian in Fort McMurray for 32 years, I have seen many injuries of this type in cats and dogs and am encouraged by modern medicine. Brandon Guillery's case is truly an inspiration. But I agree with you that Jason will make the right decision in terms of his future because he seems very smart and from what is written about him, a caring family man. Nonetheless his fans will want what would be best for him and not necessarily for football. He is one of a kind.

Thank-you,

Doc,

I certainly will pass those words on too him, and you're one hundred percent correct in your assessment of Jason. Keep the faith, and know that he'll be just fine.

From Bob:

Hi I was looking up all the CFL players websites and am now looking at yours. I swear on a stack of Bibles that you were Canadian. Now I know your not I just found that funny watching you for all these years thinking you were Canadian. Bob Kelowna BC

Hey Bob,

You're not crazy, I do play in the CFL as a Non-import. Even though I'm a U.S. citizen, my first football was played in Windsor, Ontario in High school. For the league purposes, that makes me a Non-import.

From Mark B:

Hey Kamau, Just wanted to say hello! I really wanted to post a note that would let others know what kind of character and person you are. I had the recent pleasure of coming across you while you were in Ontario during the Toronto/Hamilton games. While I am not the most informed football fan around, I do know a thing or two about character people. And as for Kamau, he really puts into the question the notion of all athletes being "big-headed", unintelligent, self-absorbing stars. Simply put, Kamau was a very well-spoken man who came across extremely polite with an abundance of intelligence and thought. And to top it off, he gave me two free tickets to the Ticat game. I still may not be a football fan but I sure am a Kamau Peterson fan. Cheers and good luck on the season.

Thanks Mark,

I appreciate the kind words, I can use all the support that I can get! Enjoy the game!!

From Coach Jackson:

Just wanted to say hey, Mr. Peterson. I know your season is underway. I hope things are going well with new son. I have not caught any of your games down here yet, but I will. Looking forward to that. Wish you well in every game. Only the best. Do what you do. God Bless

Hey Coach Jackson,

They took the t.v. schedule for U.S. viewing and twisted it up this year...I doubt you'll get much of them down there unfortunately. Things are going good though, we're ironing out some kinks, but all in all we're doing well. The family is doing great as well, it's great to have em with me.

From Tucker83:

Hey KP, I know team success comes before personal success but I\'m sure you would like to have the ball in your hands a little bit more so you can pad your stats to reach your personal goals you likely had set out before the season. With ball not coming your way very often are your goals still achievable. It\'s shocking to me that they haven\'t been slinging the ball your way seeing as how you were the go-to guy last year. Or should we as fans just be patient and wait for yourself to have a breakout game this year. Thanks for taking the time.

Tucker83,

No worries, on a corps this talented the best thing to do is to do the best you can with the balls that you are given. Many of JT, and Kelly's balls come as a direct result of me pulling coverage, so I take pride in that as well. Ours is a tight unit, and I'll gladly trade numbers for wins any day.

From Darnell:

Hi Kamau How come you were so ordinary in Hamilton and Winnipeg.. then became so proficient in Edmonton? Was it better coaching? The Eskie tradition? The field? Better teammates (despite the Esks missing the playoffs in 2006 and 2007) Thanks for your consideration

Darnell,

Ordinary?!? Interesting word usage. Anyway, the main difference is the change in position. I played the strong side wide receiver position which is a position where very few balls come because it's so far away from the QB. Even though I was out there though, I still led all others from other teams at that position for most of the years that I played it. Being able to get moved into the slotback position once I got to Edmonton, is the main reason that I came to Edmonton.

From Nicky:

Hey Kamau, congrats on the 2-1 start. I was wondering, where is the toughest place to play in the CFL? Thanks.

Hey Nicky,

If you're not playing for Edmonton and practicing on the grass out here, Commonwealth stadium is the toughest place to play because you're footing is not going to be good. You'll constantly be worried about slipping. Saskatchewan and Hamilton both have rabid fans which can make it interesting, but once you can block them out or let them help your game...it's fun to play in both places.

From Dan:

Hiya KP thanks for the answer earlier. I love AJ Harris that boy can run and am glad DM called him back. Was wondering on July 10 was that a Worman offense? I loved seeing us run with Authority Bert McCarty and Harris were great and Ricky scrambled much better than I thought he could. Hopefully this week we will go with whomever called last weeks game. Good luck to you and the rest of my team.

Hey Dan,

I agree, our offence is at it's most dangerous when we're able to run and pass equally. Coach Maciocia was calling the plays just like he always does. He, Coach Worman, Coach Kelly, and Jason Maas are all responsible for putting that offence together. If you're going to put credit on one, I think they all deserve it.

From Matt:

Hey Mr. Peterson, I saw the highlights from when you played Calgary on thursday. You guys are looking good, congratulations on the win. I'm looking forward on seeing you play on the 10th. Good Luck this season!

Thanks Matt,

That was a good win for us, Toronto's tough...but hopefully we'll be able to put something together. Enjoy the summer!

From Felix 'Grand Dad' Martinez:

Hey, I know you are enjoying being with your family. Could not find the game on satellite, but I understand you had at least a 51 yard catch. WOW. Don't they show the games on Direct TV anymore? Hope to be able to see highlights! Keep the momentum going!!

Hey Abuelo,

They changed the viewing schedule this year since we have a new TV deal. Unfortunately, it cut out most of our U.S. viewing market. Check on the schedule section of this website and I'll keep positing any and all viewing options for each game. You guys need to come down here for the labor day game on September 6th. Your daughter has been looking into flights already!
